A country’s development is dependent on its younger generation, in many developing countries like Ghana, girl child education is still a primary concern.
This is why for the next 6 months, 5 young girls between 17 and 21 will undergo skill training with focus on hair braiding and hair styling as part of our initiative to support young girls, teenage mothers and school drop outs. Through this initiative, these young girls can strengthen their economic status, while improving social welfare and their future job prospects.
The SMW initiative has supported many young girls undergo similar training in baking and soap making since its incorporation in 2016. Many of our former participants are currently engaged in their own small business to substantially provide for themselves and their kids. The hair-braids training/session will be ended with an award of a professional certificate by the (National Vocational/Technical Institute-NVTI) after they have taken the required tests.
We appreciate your continuous support and interest in our project, this gives us the energy to strive for more and help the many who need support.
