Arrival in Ghana

A member of the Ghanaian team will meet you at the international airport in Accra (Kotoka International Airport). Depending on the time of your flight, we will either travel directly from the airport to your project or stay overnight in Accra until the following day. When you arrive at the project, you will meet your contact person. Your stay at the project will begin with an orientation period to get to know the project and the surrounding area. You will be closely guided by the Ghanaian team and your contact person at the project. The Ghanaian team is available around the clock to help with any concerns, illnesses, accidents or emergencies.

Depending on the length of your stay, it may be necessary to extend your visa and the Ghana team will provide you with all the necessary documents and assist you with the visa extension process. You will also be able to explore the country during your volunteer placement, usually towards the end of your stay. Our travel guidelines are 2 weeks for a stay of up to 6 months and 4 weeks for a stay of over 6 months.
